State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) issued the following statement in response to the results of the public vote on Illinois’ state flag:
“As a member of the Illinois State Flag Commission, I want to thank the hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans who took part in this process and made their voices heard. The public’s message is undeniable.
“The current flag received more votes than the next five designs combined, and I strongly believe that lawmakers should honor this decisive outcome and respect the will of the people by keeping our flag as it is.”
